Carolyn Caines is a third-generation resident of Southwest Washington State. She and her husband Michael have three children and seven grandchildren.
During her college years, she began writing and published a dozen short stories. A graduate of Seattle Pacific College, she taught grades K-4 and high school English for thirty years.
Carolyn wrote a novel about her Finnish grandparents coming to America through Ellis Island, titled PASSAGE TO LOVE.
She has been writing mostly poetry for the last fifteen years, having published more than 130 poems in devozine, Evangel, The Salal Review, and various other magazines, journals, books, and newsletters. Her first poetry book, IN THE NOISELESS NIGHT: poems about childhood in the 50's, was published last year. Since 1998, she continues to write Poems For You, a free, weekly e-mailing.
